At SnuggyTales, we help parents create personalized, AI-generated bedtime stories for their children. We know that trust is at the heart of any family app, especially one that involves your child’s name and interests. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to the SnuggyTales mobile application (available on iPhone and Android) and our website at snuggytales.com (collectively, the “Service”). By using SnuggyTales, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Who This Policy Is For

SnuggyTales is built for parents and caregivers. Accounts are created and managed by adults. Any information about a child that appears in a story — such as a first name, favorite animal, or a made-up adventure setting — is entered voluntarily by the parent or guardian, not by the child.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in a few different ways: information you give us directly, information generated automatically as you use the app, and information from the services we rely on to run SnuggyTales. Here’s a breakdown.

2.1 Information You Provide to Us

  • Name. The name of the parent or account holder, used to personalize your account and communications.
  • Email address. Used to create your account, send receipts, deliver customer support, and share important updates about the Service.
  • Account information. Login credentials, subscription status, and preferences associated with your account.
  • Story preferences. General preferences such as preferred story length, tone, themes, or reading level.
  • Child name(s). First names or nicknames that parents choose to enter so a story can be personalized. Parents are always in control of what, if anything, is entered here.
  • Story customization selections. Details like favorite characters, hobbies, pets, settings, or story themes that parents select or type in to shape a story.

We want to be clear: any personalization details you provide are given voluntarily. You are never required to enter a child’s real name, and you can use a nickname or a placeholder name if you prefer.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage analytics. Information about how you interact with the app, such as which features are used, how many stories are generated, and general engagement patterns. This helps us understand what’s working and what needs improvement.
  • Device information. Technical details such as device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Diagnostic information. Crash logs and performance data that help us identify and fix bugs.
  • Cookies (website only). Our website, snuggytales.com, uses cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, understand site traffic, and improve the browsing experience. The SnuggyTales mobile app does not use browser cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

3. Children’s Privacy

Protecting children’s privacy is a foundational principle at SnuggyTales, and we’ve built the app with that in mind.

  • SnuggyTales is designed for families, and it is intended to be used by parents and guardians together with their children — not by children on their own.
  • Accounts are created and managed exclusively by parents or other adult caregivers. Children do not create their own accounts, log in independently, or manage subscriptions.
  • Parents choose exactly what information is entered into the app, including whether to use a child’s real name, a nickname, or no name at all.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without the involvement of a parent or guardian. Any information about a child that exists in our systems is provided by an adult through the app’s story-customization tools.
  • If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child in a manner inconsistent with applicable children’s privacy laws (such as COPPA in the United States), we will take reasonable steps to promptly delete that information.

4. How Stories Are Generated Using AI

SnuggyTales uses artificial intelligence to write personalized bedtime stories. Here’s how that works and what it means for your family’s information.

  • When you enter details such as a child’s name, interests, favorite characters, or a preferred setting, that information is used by our AI systems to generate a unique story based on your selections.
  • The AI does not make independent decisions about your child; it simply weaves the details you provide into a narrative according to the preferences you’ve set.
  • Because AI-generated content can occasionally be unpredictable, we strongly encourage parents to review each story before reading it to their child or sharing it with them. This helps ensure the story matches your family’s expectations and values.
  • We may use anonymized or aggregated information to improve the quality and safety of our AI story generation over time. We do not use your child’s name or identifying details to train publicly available AI models.

5. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Create and personalize bedtime stories based on the details you provide.
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the SnuggyTales app and website.
  • Process your subscription and manage your account.
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, or customer support requests.
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve features and user experience.
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or misuse of the Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your child’s name or story details for advertising purposes.

6. Subscriptions and Payment

SnuggyTales offers a subscription model:

  • The first three personalized stories are free, so families can try the Service before subscribing.
  • After that, continued access costs $4.99 per month.
  • All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on which platform you use.
  • SnuggyTales does not receive, process, or store your payment card information. Billing details are handled entirely by Apple or Google in accordance with their own privacy and payment policies, which we encourage you to review.

7. Third-Party Services

To operate SnuggyTales reliably and securely, we work with trusted third-party service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as:

  • Authentication — to help you securely sign in to your account.
  • Cloud hosting — to store app data and deliver the Service reliably.
  • Analytics — to help us understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
  • Email delivery — to send account confirmations, receipts, and support messages.
  • Crash reporting — to identify and fix technical issues quickly.
  • Subscription processing — handled through Apple App Store and Google Play, as described above.

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their specific function, and they are contractually and legally restricted from using your information for any other purpose. We do not control the independent privacy practices of these third parties beyond our agreements with them, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies if you’d like more detail.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary to provide the Service, support your account, and comply with our legal and regulatory obligations. For example, story customization details are generally retained for as long as your account remains active so that you can revisit past stories. If you delete your account, we will remove associated personal information in accordance with the process described below, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

9. Account Deletion

You are always in control of your family’s information. If you would like to delete your SnuggyTales account, you may request deletion at any time by contacting us through our Contact page. Once we receive and verify your request, we will delete your account and associated personal information, except where retention is required for legitimate business, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please note that deleting your account will also cancel any active subscription, and any subscription cancellation through Apple App Store or Google Play should be managed directly through those platforms as well.

10. Data Security

We take the security of your family’s information seriously and use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include practices such as encrypted data transmission, access controls, and working with reputable infrastructure providers.

That said, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your SnuggyTales account and to contact us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access.

11. International Users

SnuggyTales is available to families around the world. If you are using the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using SnuggyTales, you understand that your information may be subject to the laws of these jurisdictions, which may differ from the privacy laws in your home country. We take steps to ensure that personal information is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy regardless of where it is processed.

12. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or to object to certain types of processing. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
